Reporting marks / Identifications : RGCX
As it often happen, there are very little information about this company on the web.
According to my old Railway Equipment Register of 2007, they own a bit more than 2000 railroad cars. Yet, on their website, they have an ad looking to buy railroad cars, so it is possible that they own more railroad cars then what my Register says.
On the net, it is impossible to find any history of this company. They are located in Texas in the Rio Grande Valley. One business website says that they have been in business since 1974 but, another business website says that they are no longer in business. A visit on Google Map to look at their office show empty offices for rent…..
But we regularly see their railroad cars on CN and CP convoys. Maybe this company was bought by another company?
Worth mentioning; their website makes an effort to address their Mexican clientele by having a English/Spanish glossary and a full copy of their website in Spanish.
Finally, the "X" in their identification (RGCX) is to indicate that this company does not own a railway but rent railway cars.
Comme souvent c'est le cas; il y a très peu d'informations sur le Rio Grande Chemicals LTD.
Selon mon vieux " Official Railway Equipment Register de 2007, le Rio Grande Chemicals LTD possède un peu plus de 2000 wagons. Par contre, sur leur site web, ils ont une annonce ou ils recherchent des wagons pour grossir leur flotte, donc, il est possible que cette compagnie possède pas mal plus de wagons que ce que mon guide prétend.
Sur le net, impossible de trouver leur histoire. Situé au Texas dans la vallée du Rio Grand, un site d'affaire indique qu'ils sont en affaire depuis 1974, par contre, certains autres sites d'affaires indiquent que cette compagnie n'est plus en affaire. Une visite sur Google Map avec leur adresse montre des bureaux à louer……
Pourtant, on voit régulièrement leurs wagons sur les convois de CN et CP. Peut=être ont-ils été acheté par une autre compagnie?
Un fait à mentionné; sur leur site web, un effort a été mis pour adresser le marché Mexicain avec un glossaire Anglais/Espagnol et une copie de leur site en Espagnol.
Finalement, le " X " à la fin de leur identification (RGCX) indique que cette compagnie ne possède pas de chemin de fer proprement dit, mais, qu'elle fait la location de wagons..
